Default dash lights out 95RRCLWB

electrical gremlins?
maybe a loose ground?
or???

Background...
When I was driving the other day, I turned my headlights on via the steering wheel switch. Dash lights went out for a sec then came back on. Vehicle sat for a week; went to drive at night, no dash lights, all other lights AOK (trans selector light, seat warmer light on switch, any switch (orange activate bulb only; no background green bulbs at all) on dash, EAS all worked, etc. Stayed that way for 30 minutes or so and used my brakes in this timeframe. Put on cruise and the next time I hit the brake pedal the dash light illuminated! Any ideas? Losse wire/ground?

Where are all the ground wires on this vehicle located??
I did note that the dealr who replaced my head gaskets DID NOT reinstall the ground strap from the drivers side head to the hood bracket!!! What might this effect?

Mike

Default Wow ! So Familiar

I was just about to start the diagnostics for an almost identical problem. It would be identical if my cruise control worked, but that's another days problem

Any update on a solution ?

cruise control is probably a hose that is cracked needs to be cut back.

but do you have a trailer wiring harness from Atlantic british. basically there is a big box that transfers from seven pin to four.

I'm hoping to get to the cruise control int he next few weeks, it's not THAT important but the dash lights are becoming a pain.

I had a box to convert the 7 - 4 wires and after a few weeks had some major issues with fuses blowing and not being able to move the shifter out of park, after realising that the black box was now a melted pieced of plastic, all the wires were snipped, covered and things went back to normal.

I'm not sure if this is a fuse issue or a steering stalk issue with turing on the lights just not turning on the dash lights. Currently the headlights come on, indicators work etc, but just no dash !
