Well it took me a good day and a half to do the front brakes on my RRC, real pain in the ass. But I got it done, sorta.
Also after installing the front shaft on as well, I took it for a test run on the freeway to also break in the brakes and to see if the shaft would hold up and it did. Well, as I left the freeway on the off ramp, I heard I nasty thud. I pulled into the gas station, to fill up and looked at the shaft, and it was still solid, but then I look at my driver's side front caliper, and the bottom bolt was missing. I then realized I had lost the damn thing somewhere on the interstate. As a temporary fix, I switched the top bolt to the bottom hole, and wrenched it on there tight, and the caliper seemed to hold fine, as a matter a fact, I drove 136 miles back to college town in Lima, and I checked the caliper periodically at rest stops along the way, and it didn't move after the bolt switch. It had to be my dumbass to either A: Not even put in that bolt at my friend's house where I did the brake job, or B: Didn't tighten that bolt all the way, and therefore wiggled its way out of the threads on the bracket. ![]() Everything went together as planned, like as far as pulling the calipers, undoing the hub, and packing the bearings with new grease, but this one little bolt, which sounds like an expensive dealership-only part, is what made it suck in the end, but thankfully I was able to just flip the top bolt, to the bottom hole and it works fine, for now, as does my shaft. Does anyone have a caliper bolt for the driver's side caliper for my vehicle? I really don't wanna have to go to a dealership and have to pay like $50+ for a stupid little bolt. The bolt is a 12 point headed style bolt. That makes it expensive little bugger for just being that style. If anyone could hook me up on a bolt or two, I would greatly appreciate it!! ![]()

Pat,
I know I've said this before but....I'm pretty sure I have one kicking around here for your truck. It was 13 mm 12 point correct? Let me scrounge around and get back to you. If I have one just get me your address and I'll send it in the mail. Remember, loctite is your friend!!! Get a tube of the blue stuff for doing the calipers. Paul |

Ian is right. Aside from the weird 12 point head, it's a standard bolt.
Nonetheless, I have a couple here in my hand so if you want them send me your address and I'll get them off to you. Cheers, Paul paulgrant@mac.com |

Yeah, I tried this morning before going to class, at the ACO, Home Depot, and other places that sell bolts, and none of them have anything remotely close.
![]() But yeah Paul, I will e-mail you back, I will need that 13mm, 12 point bolt. Thanks again man, you guys here are lifesavers. ![]()
