if so, what are my options? would any problems rise from this? |

The Buick engine hails from back in the day when Chev,Pontiac,Olds, Buick and Caddilac all had their own different engines. So it would all depend on what you have in mind, how old or new are the componants to be swapped?, how much of the drive line do you want to change? Bell housing conversion adaptors can be made to fit anything to anything, basicly it is down to how much $$$ you want to spend. The stock tranny in the RRC's are fairly stout out the box and the x case has a very low creepy cawl low ratio, the only downer is the engine its self.

im just scared to wheel this thing like im used to....i dont want to break anything and be out of a vehicle. the rover itself is very impressive, the parts prices aren't.
i'm stuck between a k5 blazer or keeping the rover. i guess the chips will fall where they must! |

K5 Blazer or a Rover! I have had both, with the Blazer you can build it up to the nines with a few simple and easy upgrades. 38" to 42" super swampers, Dana 60's front and rear with lockers and 4:10 gears, NP205 x case, big block Chev for power and you are good to go. Parts are cheap, plentlyfull and everywhere. Can't fault it. The only problem (other than the massive size), it has all been done before, hit any trail, anywhere in Canada/USA etc and you will see loads of Blazers (and Jeeps) all with the same mods. Rovers are different, you can build them up to be just as strong as anything on the trail, and you will not need the 38' swampers to get out as far as the 'Big Rigs' ,Just more inteligent driving. Sure it will cost you a little more but not as much as you may think. Check out some of the rides of the guys on the forum here and you will see what I mean. Keep the Rover, use off road breakage as a reason to upgrade and instead of hearing "Yawn, there go's another Blazer" you will hear "WOW, look at that Rover go, its like a mountain goat on wheels" Plus you will have the same veh that was used by the SAS, how much tougher can you get!
