Dot 3 brake fluid - Land Rovers Only

I just bought some brake fluid for my 1992 RR Classic. As I went to put it in I saw the note on the resevior said, "Dot 4 Only"... and I have Dot 3. I have no idea what the difference is between these... Am I going to hurt my brakes by adding Dot 3 to the Dot 4 that is apparently in there?

Use Dot4 Castrol LMA.

Is there a difference between the two brands of DOT 3 and 4?

Like in viscosity?

i think dot 4 is synthetic and dot 3 isnt. dot 4 also has a higher temp rating

Yeah, I would imagine, since our Rovers, have four wheel disc that heat up pretty good, not to mention also the ABS, and TC that the fluid is getting pumped through.
