Driver's Door Wind Noise - 95 LWB

My '95 LWB makes a godawful racket from wind noise when going over 65mph on the highway from the dirvers door...
The weatherstripping is fine, no tears, etc., door closes/opens well - body alignment is as good as any Rover. Car has never been hit or repaired other than the tailgate 10 years ago.
If I look closely, it is the top window frame/a-pillar that is moving due to the air pressure change. I can't believe my Rover is that airtight... Thoughts/ideas?

Roll the window down and carefully push he window frame (with the door open) inwards toward the body a tiny amount. Try the door fit. If it still has a poor fit, try it again. Continue as needed. If you do this by small amounts each time eventually you you find a spot that reduces the the wind noise to a acceptable level without binding up the door or adjusting the the entire door out of position.

If you don't fancy bending the door and, as you say the weather strip is in good condition you could try building the weather strip thickness up with foam, this does not work as well but it should help (you can get a roll of tube foam from the hardware store). Insert the foam into the weather stripping in the area of wind noise. You may have to shave the foam down for 'perfect fit' and it is tricky to get it to lay correctly but if you keep at it the foam will help.

I have the same exact problem on my 95 accident free LWB. I'll try the same thing.

I am very comfortable bending the frame slightly - been there, done that to a big degree on my F350. I'll try that but given that the upper frame appears to bolt to the lower part of the door, I was wondering what sort of adjustment opportunities exist there. I'll tweak in the next day or two and post back - thanks!

There are a few bolts that keep the window frame in place. They can be loosened and the frame can be tweaked more effectively than bending the frame with force.

I'll fiddle with the adjustment bolts before I bend...otherwise I'd need a trip up to you to get another frame!

OK - problem solved... The culprit was not the window frame adjustment or weather stripping at all. It was the screws that hold the roof panel in place! The first 3 screws in the driver's door area had backed out and disappeared into the channel somewhere. The one left was finger tight. Got new #12 x 5/8 sheetmetal screws and lockwashers, tightened 'em all down and we're good to go.

DWN4WVR - you should check yours if you have the same issue. Pop the grommets off and use a SEM style phillips driver to see if yours are still there/tight. Good luck!
