Engine Swap questions - Land Rovers Only

I have found limited information on a few other forums but nothing complete or concrete on this so I thought I would post up here and see what you all might know.

I have read that the mercedes 300d/sd/td diesel engine is a fairly direct swap into the rover. One thread says that it will bolt up directly to the ZF transmission.

Does anyone have any more info on this swap I have a line on a 87 benz 300 turbo diesel for next to nothing that runs great but the body/interior is shot but the motor only has a 98k miles on it

So let me know anything you might have heard I want to jump on this one if it's workable.
