That is just f#*king nasty dude. What year is your RRC? A 94 or 95? Now that breather filter/ "flame trap" as it is called, is just nasty. Makes me just wanna check out mine on my RRC. I haven't done that yet, not sure if I want to though.

1990. I don't think it'd been cleaned since! You'll need a strap/belt wrench to even think about removing it. I'll let it heat up and see re it oiling eveywher etomorrow

I think I ran parts cleaner through mine for at least an hour and stuff was still coming out of it. Mine was a 93.

Like I said, I'm too afraid to see what's in mine. I will eventually get around to doing it, hoping it will save me some fuel mileage. (yeah right)

Lol! Best plan is to get it off, and PULL OUT the mesh, then scrub that in a bed of turpentine (white spirits) and clean the inside of the holder with a toobup

ive never needed a strap wrench or anything to get it off. I believe mine have come off just with my hands. If it's been done (which hopefully it has) in the last 5-10 years it should come off pretty easy!
