Default Exhaust Gaskets

Good Day, All.

First post here, though I've been lurking and learning for well over a year.

I own two '95 Classic LWBs. In both, the exhaust is pretty tight except for the connections at the manifold to engine block, and manifold to down pipe, where there is considerable exhaust leakage and some of the "tapping" noises we so often read about.

So, the question: If (and I know this is a big "if") I can get the bolts off at the connections, can I simply pull the manifold away enough to slide out the old gaskets, slide in new ones, and reattach with new bolts?

Many thanks,

ChamplainRover

I suppose it is possible, but Ive always had to remove the exhaust to get the new ones in. Dont forget to get new downpipe gaskets too and soak everything with PB blaster before trying to get the bolts out. The locks are a major PITA too so I never replace them, just use lockwashers. Gordo
