Default Finally got a new rear hatch

So I finally got sick of not being able to lock my rear hatch and got a new one. According to the UPS tracking number it will be here tomorrow, so I hope to get it on this weekend. My question to everyone is this: What kind of rustproofing should I use to keep this one from rotting away on me? I didn't buy the aluminum kit because I didn't feel like putting it together, so I'd really like to hear suggestions that don't require me taking the new one apart.

Does the waxoyl stuff that Rovers North sell come in some sort of spray that I can squirt in? Or is there something else out there that would do the trick?
