Lightbulb Freakishly clean 1990? Thoughts?

I'm considering purchasing the following rover (I have a hold on it until tomorrow). Runs good, doesn't appear to have any leaks. I'm pretty worried about the mileage though... Thoughts?

Its seems like a lot of money for a 1990 with so many miles. I got a 1993 with 132,000 for 3 the other day. Its in pretty good condition, owned by a GE nuclear engineer. Don't know where you are (sometimes certain vehicles just cost more in certain areas). I would be interested in finding out what has been replaced. With that many miles its going to be time for some key $$$$$ compontents to go out. Be sure to read different forums to find out the major problems with this year and those miles. Check craigslist. Just my opinion, but unless it has had a lot of mechical work done to ensure that it is sound then that just seems to be a lot of money. If you have time let me know where you are (State), and I'll get on the net and help you look, if you chose not to get this one. Either way good luck.

Wow, that is A LOT of MONEY for that year and that many miles. I paid less than that for my '95, and it only had 94K on it, just as clean, not perfect, but clean.

I'd keep searching. Look up the Kelly Blue Book value for it, because almost $6k should get you more than that.

Good Luck

I'm in Dallas, TX... I'm trying to figure out if I go with a classic, or with a 2000. Thoughts on the newer models? Better, worse?

Ok, I've located a few 1995s as well. In fact there is one I'm going to go look at tomorrow. Country LWB. Unsure of the motor in this one... I noticed from people signatures that 1995s are pretty popular... why?

3k to 4k if its really clean. i got my 1991 with 190K miles for 2500 although it needed a few panels to be replaced. anyways... that one is overpriced.

1995s are popular bc they were the last year, and the only year with the 'soft dash' - a different dashboard and dash components such as hvac controls, instrument cluster. other minor differences but that was the main one.

take the car to a shop and have it checked out before you buy it - at any price.

im in plano btw. some weekend if you want to see the two generations side by side we can arrange it.

have both a 1991 and a 2000. the 1991 is prettier i think. 2000 has more power but gets worse mileage (in my experience anyway). 2000 is also way more complicated and has much higher repair bills so far despite my having it half as long.

cheers.

way too much $$$!!! Clean or not! for that price, it should have a new 4.6 with a waranty. the most I've paid for one has been 2500.00, with a lot less miles. hold out for a better deal!

way to damn much. Oh and if doesn't leak check the fluids it's probably empty.

Hell for 6k for a RRC you would think the rims would match front and back.

WAY TOO MUCH! It's a nice truck, however for that price you should at the very least get a matching set of wheels and a BJ from your supermodel of choice.

check craigslist, i got my 89 for for under 1000. mine needed a tune up ECT...
but for about 2500 cash, you should get a decent classic. i know nothing about second generations. but i assume they are more complicated to fix yourself, if thats a factor to you.
