Default Got Radio Gremlins!! ARGG!!

Ok, well, first of all I had the stock radio set-up. About a month ago the radio just turned off. Then as if a mind of its own it turned on again. This happened all the time until the radio just never came back on! So I think the radio is just dead! Crap. Ok well I get an aftermarket radio installed. Works great, sounds great! Take it on a two hour drive, radio starts to cut out again, then turn off and on, until it won't come back on again! I thought it might be a ground, but the ground seems to be tight. Funny thing is, when I put the truck in gear, the radio will momentarily come on, then it turns off again. It is completely random at this point. It is driving me CRAZY! I thought even the ignition might be the problem, well if that was the case then the rest of the accessories wouldn't come on. I am racking my brain, any ideas!!!!

Something is definitely loose. You can trace the power and ground cable to it's origin or just re-wire the radio. If you have a RAVE cd or shop manual it might be easier to diagnose. I'll take alook in my RAVE cd when I get home.

When mine was doing this it WAS the ignition switch.
You can confirm this.
If the radio is not working and it's the ignition switch, then the windows will not work. I didn't know what it was either until it did it to me when I wanted the window down.

Sweet Jesus! I would have never though of that one and I would have never known as I never experienced that in any vehicles I owned. This is what I have to look foward to with the RRC too?!

Never the less, thanks for that piece of info.

Hmmmm.
Roverthen is probably right. Is there a flakey inline fuse?
Or is it something else?

Roverthen if you haven't seen my website....it has most of the stuff you will be going through if you haven't already.
