while i was ripping out my int. last night i figured i should move my ecu since my floor looks like swiss cheese. i couldnt really find anywhere in the dash to put it with out major pain in the butt.. but i found if u put it in your center console there is plenty of room for the ecu and relays..its up pretty high about butt hight soo i think that should be high enough..all i had to do was move the bottom of the center console bin<the black peice that is removable> up three inchs..and gave me plenty of room for it... oh also bent the pabs on the ecu that mount it to the floor up and fit right in....to run the harness,s i took out the tube on the right side of the console and pluged it at the heater box.... soo thats my story for now..don |

a few years ago I flooded one of my truck while crossing a stream, water came to the bottom of the seats...... long story short I mounted the engine ecu behind the dash just under the box (where glove box would be if classics had one). i get proper cooling and it is way up there, If that sucker floods all the way to there I will have to scrap it.

above the fans, once the vent facia is removed you see where the a/ c evaporator is housed, then above that housing thre are 2 screws holding it to the top of the dash, i pulled those two and zi could feel the top (or bottom ) of the gove box sopped compartment, is is there where I mounted the ecu running the harness towars the right side foot well and leaving the diagnostics plug tuched behind the mat for easy acess.

Its easy enough to mount it on the dash above the little cubby hole. The relays/wires etc can stuff underneath it in the cubby hole itself. Mines been like that for years. Ive flooded to the seat bottoms on a few occasions (literally sitting in water) and it started right back up. (believe me dilectric grease and a snorkel are a must too). If youre gonna move it, put it way up there. Gordo
