head bolt count - Land Rovers Only

Just ordered the head gasket kit with head bolts. Each head has 14 bolts. The replacement kit comes with 10 bolts ber side- was told this was a service update by LandRover. Are you leaving 4 lower holes empty on a head gasket job?

The additional 4 bolts actually torque the head TOO MUCH on that side and was probably why the original head gaskets didn't last as long as they should have. The new gaskets you get will actually have those holes covered by gasket material so you won't even be able to put bolts in those holes.

Thanks for the reassurance. I would hate to have put it back together and then have someone say- "why didn't you drill holes in the gasket?"
