Default Headlights gone baserk

1995 lwb. This is a Canadian truck, therefore it has daytime running lights. Anyhow, the daytime running lights have not been functioning for about a year now and personaly it did not bother me. When they were working the blue light on the dash (same as high beam indicator) would come on. Now to the point, yesterday I noticed the blue light came on (during the daytime, therefore light switch was off). I thought to myself that the daytime running lights had decided to start working again (not unusual for rovers to repair themselves) although when I arrived at my destination and turned off the truck the lights remained on. Also it seem that the low beems are unusually high, like the high beams, although when I put on the high beams the lights get slightly brighter, somehow it seems that the lights are stuck in high beam and won't go off. How do I turn the lights off without pulling the battery. Help!

For now you can unplug the headlamps at the connector to save your battery (obviously don't drive at night). It sounds like a fault with the switch to me. I would check the high/low beam switch. I will have a look at the wiring diagram when I get the chance if no one has responded to your SOS with a better idea of what is wrong or what to check.

Default Thanks, problem solved

Removed the daytime running light module under the glovebox. The part is $250.00 and obviously will not be replacing it. Thanks..

Pick up a used one if you need to replace it to pass inspection... Dom up in Madoc, Ontario at landroversalvage.ca was supposedly picking up a bunch of discos to salvage last time I was up there.
