So my buddy and I (who also has a '95 RRC) went through the process of bypassing the lower cushion element last week. Now the seat heaters work great, a little too good because they seem to sear our lower backs!
I was going to bring up the old thread that someone had made about the process, but thought I'd start a new one.Has anyone added a resistor to the circuit to compensate for eliminating the lower cushion? I do know that the way to compensate for the added voltage is to wire up both upper seat elements together in series to bring the voltage/resistance back to where it was, but I like having individual control of the heat, and my fiance does not like heated seats. I guess I could go through and relearn my basic electrical circuit stuff from Physics 101 that I did over 10 years ago. I was hoping that someone here was able to add a resistor and restore the stock resistance to the circuit. Anyone? TIA! ![]()

Huh, are the factory lower pads only $100? I didn't know that.
I would be willing to spend that to have some upholsterer do the deed.....
