Exclamation HELP! please... ignition wiring

I'm at a total loss here.... my rover has been sitting in my drive way for a while and its making me really sad, and cold! I've had to resort to riding my motorcycle everwhere and its just too cold. My problem with my 93 RRC 3.9 is its ignition coil wiring. If you could pleaseeee show my your wiring it would be a hugeeeee help to me.

It all started with the rover dying (like they all do) so i pulled over and it wouldnt start. I took a look at the wiring on the coil and it had this funny looking doubble fusible link from a ground splitting in to then to ??? coil or harness i cant remember, its been so long sense i took it off. (because it was really weak/brittle looking and i had it fixed)...

The only other person i talked to about it didnt have the doubble grounded weird fusible link... if ANYONE HAS THAT SET UP PLEASEEEEEEE PLEASEEE LET ME KNOW!!!! bringing my truck to the shop before Christmas isn't looking like an option right now, if anyone could help it would be the best Christmas present ever!!!

Happy Holidays everyone!

cheers, Maxx

Run a hot wire from the battery(do not run a neg to the neg side just a positive) to the + side of the coil. If it starts it is the connection between the coil and the dist. I dont recal the color of the wire that would need to be cleaned or repaired. Mine would not start unless I had that hot wire hooked up and then okie pointed me in the right direction to that connector and it has been fine every since.

My coil hookup looks like the ones in the 2nd set of pics. and the hot side was the left one when looking at it standing over it.

Ok I've cleaned and greased the contacts and hooked all the wires up where they go. checked for spark from the coil and got nothing. held a voltmeter on it and still nothing. did i miss something? i replaced the fule pump...(all rusted out and leaking gas) then i couldnt get spark so i replaced the ignition coil and distributor and module... (used distrubitor and module from . : Welcome to Car Cannibal Network : . they shipped the first one and it was damaged in the mail so they sent me another one right away. I had to send them a few pictures of the broken plastic top and the parts that fell inside of it. anway get the other one and replace it. still no spark. the wires cap rotor i had replaced a short while back but it was running fine for like 2 months before it had this problem. so it must be the module? did i some how fry it by hooking it up wrong? its not the wiring... they all tested good with the tests in the manual. its got to be the module i guess... wonderin if i can just pull one off of the other distributor. anyone know how to change it with out pullin every thing out? humm... i'll be sure to let you know how i make out soon as we get some better weather

when you pulled off the old rotor, did it give you any grief? I have had them seeze in place. If you pry them off, you can break something inside the dist. check out rangerovers.net/rrremedies "rotor stuck" Is there a crazy chance that the new cap may have a hairline crack? oem caps fit a thousend times better than the aftermarket, but i dont think thats youre problem

I had that crack in the cap problem and it drove me crazy for two weeks and two shops. One told me that my rover had junked it's timing chain. Turned out the new cap had a hairline crack in it that was causing the problem.

Nothing but caps from LR for her now.
