Default HELP- RRC won't run Properly!!!

Ok here is some background info.
About 2 months ago i went wheeling. Truck ran beatifully except for a faulty inertia switch. It would take some time to start and you would have to fiddle with the switch..
Anyway, A few weeks after the trip I washed the truck to put it awaya nd washed the engine bay. I also switched out my leaking fuel tank.
The enxt day I had to go somewhere, started driving the truck and it felt like it had no power. A few minutes after that it started to bog down, to choke. Everytime I would press the accelerator it would start to choke and die. I turned around and at about 1500RPM and 40Km/h I got it home. I figured it was the TPS. SO i took out a spare I had, put it in, and same thing. I figured my spare was no good. So I got another one, and it still does the same thing. THe first time it would allow you to rev it to under 3K RPM, and then on its own, slowly start dying, unless you depress the accelerator.
Today I tried 3 different AFM's, a new coil (which actually maybe made it worst) cleaned out under the dist. cap, and put in the third TPS sensor.
IT still won't run properly!!! I don;t get any check engine ( i used to get code 45 even though I put a new O2 sensor) and I;ve noticed that since the new gas tank, my Fuel pump is really loud(but it is farily new).

What the heck could it be?? I am really getting frustrated!!!

Thanks.
1990 RRC.

Hate to ask the obvious but you did make sure the new tank was free of debries right? If not you could have debries blocking the intake on the pump which would explain the sounds coming from it.

Also did you change out the fuel filter it could also have clogged up causing the pump to labor. Since both sound like a lack of fuel getting forward these would be my two ideas.

Just a thought other than that I've got nothing.

It's the fuel pump. Get one for a 1988 Cavalier, $70 at Auto Zone or Prp Boys, and change out the pump motor with the one in your housing. Details on rangerovers.net.

Ok, so I spent pretty much all day on the RR.
What i did was put in a new Filter, clean out fuel pump net(the thing at the bottom).
that helped, but after some time It started to act up again. So I took apart hte fuel pump, ran soe water to flush it out, then flushed the tank with fuel 2 times, made sure that the filter is still good and gave it a go. It is MUCH better now, the poblem is after a few minutes of driving and starts to act up, surging, chugging. If I shut it off, let it sit, it seems to become better, but overall It is not the way it should be.

What else could it be? I am thinking I might have to change the fuel pump all together(even though it is 6 months old.).
Any other ideas?

I'd have to say it's time to consider a new pump then

Every plug and socket on the ecu harness needs to be disconnected, blown out with dry air and sprayed with some CRC 66 in them and reseated. Check that you are getting 35-40 psi AT THE RAIL. You may have a pretty good accumulation of rust and debris in the fuel rail itself, choking off fuel from the injectors. Robison reccomends replacing the rail at 100K, but I suggest, at a minimum, that they be thoroughly blown out, including the regulator.

How would i change pressure at the rail?
I don't have a nipple on the rail for it.

Ok, so spent another half day out in the cold/snow, but this time I MAY have Resolved my issue!!!!

Put in a brand new fuel pump, brand new filter, and a brand new little net for the bottom of the fuel pump. I also added a lot of injector cleaner.

Fired the truck up, ran well. Let it idle for some time, continued to run well. Then I started revving it a little once it began warming up, no sputtering, chugging, fuel pump is not loud. Took it for a drive, no problem, even in 1st gear at 4K RPM didn't misbehave.

I think that was it, a combination of fuel related items.

I will be taking it for a proper test drive one day soon, and will report back!

Thanks for all those who gave ideas and tried to help out!!! This site is an invaluable source!
