I totally believe in Rovers and I think the history of the vehicle proves the longevity of the vehicle.
Yes, and to my knowledge (as I've only owned the car for a few weeks) there are no leaks!

My old one had upwards of 280k.

If you don't knwo when it's done you may want to look into having the timing chain tensioned and/or replaced. Ask me how i know...

Yeah, I'd like to know how. Did it go out on your old one or something?

Yeah, I'm 90 percent sure that was what it was. For about a week it would be sluggish on first starting in the morning.. then leaving school one day, it just shut off while accelerating. Turned the key, no compression. Opened valve cover and saw a broken rocker or two. Pretty sure the timing chain snapped or slipped and caused bent valves, assuming this is an interference engine.

I think there is like a 100k replacement interval for the chain, not sure. Never heard of it being a problem for anyone else, but i'm paranoid about it now. I'm not sure how big of a job it is to change, but it would involve some engine disassembly I assume.

Default Sweet Thread!!

1993 RR LWB 160,000 miles.. No leaks ( Hey I am amazed myself )

Previous 1996 4.6 80K when i sold it.. ( just in time didn't really like that car! )

Previous ( my first Rover) 1988 3.5L Vogue 300K (at 200k the engine was taken apart assuming it needed a rebuild, it did not.. a 3.9 cam was put in and buttoned up I drove it till 260K and sold it.. I saw it still around so i estimated it went 300k.

89 Efi - 266k and still used daily. Just returned from holiday in Scotland where we put 1100 miles on it in a week - oil, filters and plugs changed before we went, just needed a pint of oil when we got home to bring it up to 'full' again.

ART your truck is a real beauty!

My 88 went till about 200K something..It was only retired after an accident and was deemed totaled!

I wish I could find the black 1995 we traded many years ago! It was a creme puff!
