Default Ignition Switch

1990 Classic Rover

Having a bit of a problem with my ignition switch.
It seams I might of broken the tip of the key in the switch.
I can not turn the switch with the key although I can not see any thing in there.
WD-40 does not help.
I have the covers off but having a hard time with the shear bolts.
What size are the heads?
Any ideals?

Thanks,
bernie

Whenever I remove an ignition switch assembly I always use a Dremel to cut a slot in the shear bolt so that I can back the bolt out with a screwdriver. That way, you can even use the bolts over again if you need to.

yes they do, Paul actually hooked me up with a used one a few years ago. Before that I kept it going by using graphite power.

Default Ignition Switch

Got the slots cut and shear bolts out.
Took switch to locksmith, got the key tip out.
Got all back togather, life is good.

Thanks for your help again
