Angry Irritating Foggy Windows

Who is sick of fogged windows ALL THE TIME? I AM!!

Well, for some reason, my windows have fogged tremendously, and randomly out of no where this week. What can I do to just prevent this from happening all the time? Cause the fogged windows, end up freezing on the inside of the truck, and takes me a little over half an hour to thaw it all with te heater, and up until now, just didn't have the time to get out and let the truck warm for that long.

Suggestions would be great. Thanks guys.

Extra moisture is getting inside from somewhere, maybe on your feet or check you don't have a leaky heater coil or something dripping inside.

Couple things you could try are setting the heater to bring in fresh air not recirculate, and put some Rain-X on the inside of your windshield.

Ah ha.....good thinking there about the fresh air and not set it to recirculate. I did the recirculate setting to prevent snow from forcing itself into the blower motor and seizing the blower motor up. Cause the first snow we got here in Lima, it forced snow into the blower motor, and got away with the blower motor still working.........ALL.....TOO.....WELL. I ended up with a face full of snow through the defrost vents one morning. It was hilarious, but I was so cold. LMAO!!!

Thanks for the suggestion sideview. It should work, and I will try the Rain-X thing on the inside of all the windows.

To de-frost your interior windows quickly, set your climate controls to "Defrost" and turn on the air conditioner (with heat if desired). Fresh air might work in time as well as freezing your nuts.

I set a small ceramic heater in my outdoor cars and just plug them in. During the snow and ice weather my windows are always clear. ANd the interior is pleasantly warm.
But this problem is as Sideview says, due to moisture INSIDE the vehicle. Since this is an RRC you can almost be sure it is the pad under the carpet holding water. If your floor is like my floor, once you pull the carpet you are going to be surprised at the number of bolt holes you have under there. Or worse RUST holes. It's a good chance also that your windshield is leaking water in as well.
I know, I know, so much good news.

I have found that once that original pad gets wet there is no way to dry it out or wet vac it out so I just cut it out. I plan on replacing later with new padding but may dynamat the floors before I install new carpet. I agree, you will be surprised to see some rust and the degree of it depends on how long the pad has been wet and what area of the country you are in.

Does your heated windshield not work anymore? Or your rear defroster either? I agree with the others too, never set your air to recycle, fresh air/defrost works great! The A/C makes it quicker though, but if you don't have it, then that should work!

Hi RageRover
I use a product in the UK called fog X, once this has been applied it will never fog up, its last around a month or so then you have to reapply it.
Rain X is good too

Cheers

If you had your heater set to recirculate, that's what did it. You'll be fine with it taking in fresh air. They won't fog up too badly. Unless there's snow on the outside of the windows.

I ended up trying the fresh air setting on the HVAC, and it seemed to work out better....a LOT better. Thanks for the suggestions though!

I will keep in mind the products that were listed just in case. And I will check out the carpet to see if, and there probably is, any water seapage.
