Default keys stolen, new locks?? how? 95lwb

Some bad guys burglarized my home on Friday. In the ransacking they found the backup key jar; and stole it too. Anyone have any experience with lock change out? Ignition, doors, tailgate.

thanks in advance geneo 95lwb

Take it to the dealer and let him change out all the locks, your insurance will pay for it.

i am sorry to hear that u got ransacked!!! X2 (mike)! or u can go to a indy shop to. i had to get a new ignition cylinder with new key and that would make 3 keys that i would have had to use. so the shop changed the pins in the ignition to match the driver, tailgate door and i still have a 2nd key for the passager door (price to take door apart) i would check to see if insurance will cover before taking it to the dealer (price that they will charge!) u do not want to get stuck with the bill.

The dealer would maybe be able to get you a fob as well.

In the meantime take the battery out and put it in the garage. They can't steal it if it won't start.

todays update

My homeowners insurance company;Hartford, says it's the auto insurer's problem. Progressive has refused to rekey either the 2006 Saab or my 95lwb. They will pay for a new key or fob after the comprehensive deductable $500. That's $500 on each car. They are aware that each car could be opened and raided for contents and/or stolen. It's not part of their policy to rekey for stolen or lost keys. If you are insured with Progressive then you are in the same boat. You might check your own policy. Burglary is the most common property crime today. I know I'm not the only one that has had his keys stolen, are we all not covered? I'm going back after Hartford today.

FYI geneo

What?
When I got my truck burgled my car insurance company told me since it was in my driveway it was my house policy that covered me. SO I turned it in on that. Deductible was the same.
500$ per car? Man what a rip off.
I have Progressive.

i lost my keys (didnt know where) and I assumed i had left them at the bar. hehe. =/ a week later, i woke up to go to work and noticed my drivers side door was wide open. It was 6 am. Im like hmm wtf. I walk up to the car and look inside, the radio had been pulled halfway out and it looked as though they got spooked and split before they could steal it. I planned on re-keying the damned thing but then this happened so i guess there was no need. Let me know how much this winds up costing you.
