alright, while driving home from playing hockey Sunday night I got a flashing light on the dash indicating that the coolant level was low. luckily the temp guage hadnt gone above normal, so I added a little water and took it easy on the remainder of the drive home. In the daylight yesterday the coolant resevoir was almost empty and there seems to be some coolant puddled on top of the engine in the V between the valve covers.
I topped up the coolant tank, and nothing leaked out onto the ground overnight. I'll take it out for a drive when I get home this afternoon to see if things start leaking again, but in the mean time, any guesses as to the best place to start searching for a leak? FWIW, I did have my water pump replaced about 500 miles ago.

woohoo, found it - not a head problem (this time)
it was a broken heater hose. this one: dealer has one locally, so off to there to pick up a replacement. ![]()
