Locked-Up Sun Roof
I have an original factory-fit sunroof in my '89-manufactured, '90-model RRC County. It opens and closes fine in the tilt position, but won't slide backward into the headlining to its fully open position. The motor, however, buzzes and spins when depressing either side of the rocker switch.
I currently have the headling out to do a wiring project, and would like to rectify the sun roof problem as a twofer. Assuming seized goodies after the motor, the last few nights I've been reversing the rear of the vehicle down into a ditch so it sits at about a 50-degree angle, and squirting WD40 into the two channels where the spiral-knurled actuator drives run. This has achieved nothing other than oily stains on my center console!
