Default Missing my 1995 RRC swb!

A walk down memory lane here. This was my Range Rover from 2000 to 2006 (when I bought the 1992). I had wanted a Range Rover since 1987 when I rode in a red one, the first to be delivered in the Chicago area if I remember/believe the story. I slowly modified it over the years as I became more experienced at the 4 wheel driving off road. I decided to buy the 1992 from a friend, it was modified exactly how I wanted this one, but I could get it at a fraction of the price compared to buying parts, installing, and trouble shooting.

The photos are from Black Bear Pass, CO (above Telluride) and Water Canyon, NM (I think, we were never sure exactly where we were when adventuring as a High Desert Rover) and the West Mesa Desert. Enjoy, thanks for looking! Oh Yeah, One looking down Lion's Back.

Thanks for posting Thor. I needed my daily fix for RRC pictures! I recognize Lion's Back on that last pic.

Great scenery. If heights bother you it can be touch and go as I found out with my passenger. A great ride around Ouray/Telluride/Silverton.

Great pics and a beauty of a truck!

I love my Disco 1, but I really miss my 89 RRC, at least you still have one.

By the way the scenery in those pics is amazing!

Thanks everyone.

That was a great rig to get into the LR off-road scene.

I noticed all the shots I showed before were with 225/75 and EAS.

Here are two shots of all mods done on Slaughterhouse Gulch, and the day I sold it.

Thor, did you buy the Range Rover badges on the rear quarter panel or did she come like that?

Those are the old style thick rubber bumpstrips. My silver stripe ones were funky so I had a body shop remove/replace them. It's an 8 piece kit I ordered them from Rovers North or Atlantic British.

I love the High Desert Rover Sticker right in the middle of the bumper. All your Range Rover's both past and present make me drool. Great views, good times, and even better people to wheel with! I miss the New Mexico crew....

I preferred the oval shaped 'original' HDR NM sticker in the rear window myself.

I had a K40 remote radar reciever behind the ARB bumper so I used a plastic licence plate with the newer HDR NM sticker on it, to cover the hole we cut in the metal so the K40 could sense Five-O.

I didn't want to hijack the GirlFriend thread.... but yes Grew up in the Chicago area.

Red Cone really varies. Somtimes I could probably do it in a minivan, others it feels like a rock buggy would have trouble keeping tires on the ground. It all depends on when they grade it.

Black Bear is much the same. The year after I went my friendswere on the trail when a nasty storm rolled in. Pretty scary from the sounds of it.

I need to call Jackie and ask her for an "oval" HDR NM Sticker!

I was born in Orland Park, however we had family from Cicero to Hinsdale. Sorry, indulging in reminiscence. Chicagoland has soo much culture!

nice '95 rrc! that would b hard to sale off. i also wanted a rrc as far as i can remember and i will never sell my 93. bertha has about 61,920 mile on her now and i bought her w/ about 54,900 in april of 05 just before my daughter was borned. i have had to do alot of work on her to get her into shape and still have a nice size list of non-fun and fun parts that i need to get her.
did u have 225/75 MT? i have 225/75 AP that the PO put on her and your seem bigger. i like them alot and they plow through the snow and etc. once those wear down i want to get 245/75 AP.
do u know if u can get the new rubber strips w/ the silver anymore? i have seen them once but they were $350 plus for a full set!! i have seen the ones u had and ones that r all black w/out the RR logo on the back corners. i didnt no if i would like the black ones w/ a black paint job but it looks great and stealth. i am missing my back corner stripe and got a used one from someone but it does look that great and the back still needs to get scraped down alot. i need to get a paint job next summer and would like to get a new full set. thanks for posting the pics. cant get enough rrc pics.

Thanks daway

Mine looked a lot like yours when I bought it. But the brush guard was rusty under the coating, and it had the original Michelins XM244 (i think) on it in 205/80r16. And I had the 5 spokes (I'd love a set of those for my 1992). And of course 8" shorter rear doors!

My middle tires were Michelin LTX M/S 225/75r16. they were great in the desert and Moab.

I don't know about the silver rub strips though... sorry.

The last 2 shots are with OME MD and 235/85r16 GY MT/R.
