Default More Ignition Switch

OK, i have one more question about ignition cylinder/switch replacement. I have a 94 LWB that has a different lock cylinder with 2 extra wires coming from the back of the ignition cyliner (shown in picture). I found an older style lock cylinder without these wires, however, when I plug this in, the truck doesnt seem to recognize that anything is there. Does anyone know anything about this? Any help pointing me in the right direction would be awesome.
