Default MPG's

Filled up my LWB with 4.6 conversion (1500 mi on reman eng.) today. MPG so far has been 11.5, on 93 octane gas. I drive it pretty gently but it has bad catalytic converters (plan to replace soon, along with O2 sensors). Kind of wondering what everyone else is getting.

My '95 gets 12 or so around town, 4k miles on valve job, head gaskets, cats, o2 sensors, tuneup/etc....

You can stop using 93 octane any time you want. That'll save you some money right there.

I get between 12 and 16 mpg depending on terrain, whats in the roof rack, and whether or not its running on all 8 cyl. 4.6l with dual SUs and no cats. I also use high octane, Miles has a tendancy to ping on medium.

On my 93 I get a pretty consistant 13mpg in the city/short hwy combo. I have the 3.9 though with 90k. I get about 17mpg on the hwy. BTW, yes premium fuel DOES make a difference. I get 12mpg with 89 oct, and 11mpg with 87 oct! I don't hear any pre-ignition though!
