Hello everyone
I’m new here and I was hoping to get some help I’ve had RRC all my life and recently re bough my lovely RRC 74 with its original 3.5 l v8, But I wanted to install a different engine, something diesel...turbo diesel preferably, so I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction (brands, displacement, or any info related) PS: I was thinking in the line of Isuzu engines or Mitsubishi any info would be greatly appreciated |

Where in the world are you. Izuzu motors were a factory fit to Landrovers here in Australia in the 80's and are quite common. If you are in the US, the big GM V8 deisels are also a relatively common conversion.

The Izuzu motor requires a different bell housing. I do not think that I have ever seen them connect to an auto. So you just have to get the bell housing and engine out of a defender. The engine mounts may also be different.
