I have owned Bimmers and Rovers. The difference, the BMW starts, runs, works, but doesn't have a name or soul. The rover always has some sort of problem, but boy do I love her and I whoop with joy every time she starts and gets me from A to B.

Drive it like you stole it, never think twice about going off road but dont look back if you did not go off road. enjoy it while it runs despise it when needing repairs.
rejoice the air suspension but miss it when you decide to convert to springs (if already converted to springs never mind).
boast about it ownership but be quiet when someone scolds for owning it.when told how amazing you truck has performed or how good it looks simply be humble and grin.
a land rover ownership is the good..... the bad.... and the ugly.
only an owner and or a rover mechanic can understand.
best of luck and congrats or my regrets depends on how you look at it (lol)

Range Rovers that will tell you a lot!

Things to think about:
Head gaskets
oil leaks
air suspension(if you have it)
PS leaks

But like others said.. Don't be scared to go off road nad have fun... IMO Rovers that go out and have fun do better than those that stick to the pavement!!! Seems like they need to be shaken up now and then!

Please don't try to figure out how to smash through a wall with your Rover...do that with a Dodge!

as for pics, you may need a certain # of posts before you can...I'm not sure as I've not yet needed to on this board.

Like a few others on this board, I'm coming from a bimmer background. I'm also fairly competent with a wrench, as I do all of the work on my BMW and have built a few in the past (engine swap, trans replacement, suspension, brakes, everything except opening up the motor.)

The Rover is worlds easier to work on due to the relative simplicity of the engine and mechanical parts. The only thing that makes it more challenging is the Lucas electrical system. Sometimes, when you know it could only be one thing, it isn't.

I hope you enjoy the RRC, I know I do!
