I have oil leak, only while engine is running, it drips down the oil filter? Im using a fram oil filter and its turned as far as it'll go? Do i have to use a LR filter? or is there a bigger problem?

Ditch that FRAM filter as fast as you can...they have no anti-drainback feature and allow your motor to start with the top side "dry". VERRRRRY BAD!!
Go to your local NAPA store and get a NAPA GOLD filter (they are made by WIX...and are very good) and are only about $8-$10. I think its a #1068 for your RR...but you will want to check with the guy behind the counter. Also, check to make sure your PVC valve is not blocked and causing your engine to pressurize and pump the oil out the path of least resistance...I've seen it happen (to a non Rover...but still a GM engine)

Just a thought... on mine there is a plug (just like the oil sump drain plug above the filter)
on the filter housing... it has a copper crush washer. 1 1/8" should tighten it up...if its dripping it could make the filter appear to be leaking. |
