Question: When I put the plenum back on I just put it on metal to metal and screwed those allen bolts tight. I didn't remember there being a gasket so I didn't even think of needing one or of sealing it with a liquid gasket of some sort.
Mistake, and the reason for the rough running, maybe? I feel like I can hear an air leak. Thanks, ChammplainRover 95 LWB X 2 |

If memory serves there is definitely a gasket in between the upper and lower plenum. It's a good chance you could have an air leak there without the gasket.

You didn't remember a gasket because there was none. ![]() The plenum was seated originally at the factory using a liquid gasket maker called Blue Hylomar. Frankly you can used any gasket maker that remains flexible after setting. Torque (alternate bolts) carefully to spec. (11 nm) James |

Thanks.
I've been out to the rig already. Lifted up the plenum and applied a (messy) bead of hylomar blue. Hope I created a thorough seal. Cure time overnight adequate? If so, I'll report in the morning how she runs. Thanks again. CR |

Overnight will be fine. If you are chasing a vacuum leak. get a spray can of ether (Quickstart) With the engine running, lightly spray on suspect areas. If the rpm alters at any place, (away from the air intake) you have found your demon. James |
