Angry Radio on but no sound..please help

So I have a 95 Classic SWB with the Harmon Kardon system. The radio started acting up where I had to wait about 5 minutes for the sound to come on, and now the stereo turns on but I get no sound.

Can anyone tell me where to start to diagnose this issue. Is it most likely the head unit, amp, wiring....uhg!

Thanks for the help...

use a vohm (voltage ohm) meter to find if you have output from the radio to the amp input that is both ohms (sound) and power once that is stablished or eliminated, you proceed to amp output. remember there are grounds to be checked as well.... 8ohms and 12 volts or 5 millivolts are normal outputs.
ohms is for speaker, volts or milliamps are power to amp...there is a remote on power wire which turns the amp on and off and a costant on supply as well as grounds...
