Default Is It Really Dead???

Help!!!
My newest range, 93 LWB, has not run well since I bought it. I took it to a very trusted Mechanic who found......one cilinder not firing at all and a good amout of anti-freeze coming out of the right side exhaust manifold. The previous owner had over heated it and had the heads 'rebuilt??'. They look brand new on the outside but no telling how well they were gone through. I am worried that during the overheating episode some form of block damage was done as well.
After alot of crying, stomping my feet, pouting, and pretty much acting like my 2 yr old daughter, I gave up and decided to replace the whole motor. Is anyone familiar with a good source for QUALITY rebuilt 4.2? I have tried the usual outlets so please do not respond with RoversNorth or the like. I have a lead on a used/inspected motor from a shop in Tampa ($1850) but would like something with more then a tail light warrenty.
An imported rebuild, from some third rate carribean island ($3500), was also an option I found, but I am a little leary on that one.
Anyone with some insight please help. I don't mind if it is not in state, as I have friends all over and don't mind a road trip (I have never seen Wisconsin??).
Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure a 3.9 is only a crankshaft and a few other small parts away from a 4.2.

4.2 Pistons are a bit taller than 3.9 as well.

Have you tried East coast Rovers. They aren't cheap though?

Atlantic British had some 4.2 motors that were brand new. They wanted like 7 grand for them....

DAP has factory new shortblocks cheaper than anyone- there was a sale on the 3.9 posted at MuddyOval.com. If your heads were redone- maybe it's just a head gasket though.
