Default Reasons to install an electric fan next time.

1) It really sucks when you 13 year old fan blades give up the ghost..
2) It's even suckier when a 1 year old fan unit explodes
3) Electric fans come on when your engine needs it... and stays off when it is warming up
4) Electric fans save gas and HP
5) Electric fans can keep your 13 year old heater core from blowing up and sending hot coolant everywhere inside the cabin

Well this weekend while driving my rover around my year old with less than 5K miles fan unit blew up and got stuck in the alternator area. Drove around for 2 days without a fan.. Luckily for me there is alot of 50mph driving around here... while waiting for my daughter to run and grab something the engine got hotter and hotter...and while I was driving up the on ramp Up hill to I-5 70 MPH speeds the core blew... dang.. drove to the next exit cause it was on a hilll with not much room on the side.. didn't want to leave it there or have my kids on the side of I-5 and parked it in the outlet mall parking..
towed it 48 hours later and took out all the carpeting and sound proofing foam and rubber bits..../. now I am going to take some heater hose and bypass the core.... then get an electric fan... like I should have when i replaced the radiator last year... Dang... Heater Cores are a BEAAATCH.. and winter is weeks away here... Well after I fix this I am selling her and getting a P38A.. Someone will get a nice rover with lots of PM..

Dayam!
Well you know where to go to see pics of the heater core.
Can't wait to see the P38 you get. I know it will be great.

Anyone looking for a nice LWB Dan's your man.
