Default Removing clutch from fan?

I was going to replace the water pump on the '95 RRC thins week , since I noticed it was leaking from the weep hole last week....

Today the pump siezed completely, so my timetable got moved up a little. It all came apart with no problem, I used a large adjustable wrench on the waterpump nut for the fan and it came right off (and I thought that was gonna be the tough part) The old pump didn't look bad, no erosion of the impeller , and it was nice and clean inside, but it was completely siezed and I couldn't turn it even after I got it off the truck.

I also picked up a new fan clutch , and here the problems began....the clutch is connected to the fan itself by 4 5mm hex bolts, and I couldn't get them off. I PB Blastered the heck out of them, and tapped the them with a hammer, all the tricks....I ended up snapping two hex wrenches, and I couldn't break them loose. I ended up putting the original clutch back on....

Is there a trick to getting the fan off the clutch? I cannot get this thing off, and I can't figure out why.

Funny, I took two of those apart today. They came right apart with a 13mm wrench. Then I just knocked the fan off the clutch. Try using an impact wrench.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot with the impact. The pump siezed in a friend's driveway, so I did not have any air available while I did the r &r on the pump, but she's home now, so I can put the impact on it. I know I have some hex drives somewhere....
