Default reverse lights

Sometimes my reverse lights work, sometimes they don't. Is there a common cause for this? They have new bulbs in them. Thanks.

Doug
has this been going on for sometime and did this happen before u put new bulbs in? do both sides not work at times? 1st check to see if the wires r loose in the back lens and/or dirty. if they r dirty clean them and put some silcone die-grease on them.

I noticed they didn't work shortly after I bought it a few months ago. I thought it was the bulbs, so I replaced them. After I replaced the bulbs, they worked so I thought it was just bad bulbs. Yesterday, a friend was backing my RR(88classic) out of his garage, and the lights were not working.

also test the current w/ a meter to see if the wires r getting the right amount of juice when in R. (maybe a short??)

Thanks. How does the brake switch affect the reverse lights? I do remember reading something about a neutral safety switch affecting reverse lights.
