Default Rotors and Pads '95 LWB

Gurus,

My '95 LWB needs rotors and pads.

1. Best place to buy?

2. Something I can do myself (link to a step-by-step set of tech directions)?

Thanks as always for your help.

I bought my rotors and pads from Atlantic British. They usually have pretty good deals on kits for front and rear. I got the EBC Greenstuff pads about a year ago and have been really happy with them.

For a nice tech page, try

You can do it yourself if you are slightly mechanical and search through here...there is a great writeup somewhere that tells you exactly what to do...it was great.

I personally just put new rotors all around with new calipers and pads. I went with Brembo slotted disks with the green stuff pads described above...LOVE the results.

One thing to remember: When removing the ABS/Traction ring on the old disk, put it in the wheel and stand on it to break the bolts loose...you'll see what I'm talking about...

Good luck. If you run into issues, holler and I'll see if I can remember any other hangups.

Todd

the best price Iv'e seen on pads was gold coast rovers. they are a Jag shop that sells Rover parts as well. most of the parts they sell are a smokin' deal I bought Lockheed pads there for around $13.00 keep in mind, some of their parts are over priced, so shop around.

95 RRCs and D1s are pretty much identical at the final drives no?

I'd be willing to give you my cell number incase you ran into any troubles or need to be guided through anything.

Having the right tools handy is key for any mechanical work.

-13mm 12pt socket/wrench : box-end
-2"1/16th Hub Socket (I've got a few on the way)
-Blue and Red loctite (the ones that look like sticks of glue are the least messiest)
-some medium sized C-clamps to force the caliper pistons back in
-Retaining Ring pliers are nice to have but some ingenuity can get the retaining ring that holds the drive flange in place off.
-new gaskets for the drive flange.

If you buy a kit, make sure it comes with the oil seals that go on the backside of the hub

Also, have some 90 weight gear oil or a pair of One Shot grease tubes ($13ea. @ dealer) incase your swivel balls need to be filled.
