Default rovertym 2" body lift

i have been considering getting a 2" body lift by rovertym...i recently found out that the kit comes with 10 spacers for the body, radiator, transfer case, seat belt tensioners, and a coupler for steering shaft...has anybody installed this themselves? what was the difficulty? any idea how much a shop would charge to install this?

I haven't installed a body lift on a rover but did on a jeep and wasn't every happy with it. In my experience body lifts simply aren't a good thing much over 2" to gain a little tire clearance. Anything highter than that leads some some issues down the road if your not careful. Just my .02

I did the RTE install on a friends Rangie, not very difficult. Hardest part was getting the rusted bolts out. We did bring the steering shaft to a welder to weld an extensionon it (included in kit).

For a 2 inch lift you should not have to extend the steering shaft. The lift itself is very easy, you can do it in half a day. It is the lining up the front and rear bumpers and other realignment that takes a little time. Fitting the kits by relatively unskilled people should not be an issue.

Ian, the kit from RTE comes with a short extension for the steering shaft. If you loosened the shaft ends and pulled out the shafts from the coupler you cannot insert the bolt back in (is this confusing or what)..... I have a spare shaft laying around, I'll try and post pics tomorrow ...

John, I have a 2 inch body lift and did not need to play around with the shaft. If you loosen off all 4 bolts, there is enough movement to allow things to fit properly.
