Okay, so I just picked up a 93 RRC lwb... cheap... only thing it needs is the spring conversion (the air bags are shot) So Im wondering if anyone can shed a little light on any "gotchas" I might want to look out for before I start into it. Thanks in advance for the input.

About a month ago, I did the conversion on my 95 LWB in my garage and I found it to be relatively self explanatory. The airbags were very easy to remove. Since my truck was originally a NY truck, the biggest problems I had were rusted on bolts that would just break instead of loosen. Don't take shortcuts on the shocks themselves as I think that might me a mistake I've made on mine, it rides a little too bouncy for me on the front. The springs were the blue 3" lift ones.

iF you want a set of springs and shocks for your conversion I have a complete set that came off a '95 LWB. The conversion was done a little over a year ago. This conversion keeps the shocks forward of the springs in the front the way Land Rover designed. You can have all four springs and all four shocks (two fronts come with shock towers in excellent shape) with mount, bushings and almost all the hardware for $225 plus shipping.
if you are interested let me know. Cheers, Paul |

The shocks and springs appear to be genuine Land Rover. I have to get the weight of all the items to calculate the cost of shipping. What is your zip code. As far as payment, PayPal is fine. My account is my email address (paulgrant@mac.com).
Cheers, Paul PS I will be out most of tomorrow collecting another truck so it might not be until Thursday morning before I can get the shipping charges figures out. |

Here are photos of the genuine Land Rover shocks and springs that are available for sale. You can see from the photos the color identifications for each spring. The only thing missing fro these set up is one rubber bushing and two nuts. This is what Rovers North sells for an EAS conversion. In their older catalog the price for the springs is $370 while the shocks are $280, nevermind the perfect shock towers that are also included in this sale.
These springs should maintain the standard height and spring rate found on factory coil sprung RRC's. This is not a lift kit and will not allow you to suddenly use 35" rubber. This is the genuine conversion sold for replacing the air springs on a 1993-95 RRC. $225 plus shipping for everything you see in the photos. The springs weigh 55 lbs. properly boxed and the shocks and towers weigh 35 lbs. Shipping is from CT 06776. I accept PayPal at paulgrant@mac.com If they don't sell here they are going on eBay in a day or two. |
