Default RRC alarm acting up

so when i bought my rover the seller didnt have the alarm keychain but just recently my alarm has started going off randomly. not fun. anyone encounter this?

Could be a bad tailgate switch. It causes the interior lights to come on and make the alarm go off.

I guess you could use an ohmmeter to test. I pulled mine out (1 screw, real easy) and it was all corroded. Costs under $10 at the dealer, believe it or not!

in my 93 i did not have the alarm/auto lock fob when i bought it and i found out that the alarm was drain'n a small amount of juice from my battery. if i let my rrc sit for a wk or so the battery would be drained. i over rided the alarm so it would be discounted and would not use any battery. i know the 95 rrc has alot of differnt things to it then any other rrc. maybe just over ride the wires.

i think the 95 r the same as 93. like sven described above. it's on the left side below the rubber seal on the upper tailgate. the screw is the ground. i got one for cheap at british altantic. it does get corroded easy.

that sucks!! try to spray wd40 on the strikers and or fool w/ the lock. my sometimes need to b in a perfect spot when i turn the key. if u get a new tailgate (upper) get a alum one!!! save u $$$$ in the long run. next time i need one i am going w/ alum.
