No, he took out the detail about adding new trim and a hood black out to break up the yellow. Solid yellow will look ridicules.
He also took out the comment about the snorkel and how to redo that. ...hell, I can't even remember what else. |

Ok, can you repeat how to do the hood black out. What about the snorkel?
I get it, you don't like it... Jeez Daway, 300 is WAY out there. No way in hell I am spending that much., maybe a local Auto store might have something similar, I will go hunting.

I'm not, in anyway, attempting to highjack the thread, But, to some degree in Hank's defense, I have to say I know where he's coming from. I have seen so many pathetic attempts to dress up an otherwise ordinary Land Rover, that I can understand why Hank said what he did. I, too, can be a synical old bastard at times, especially when you consider, in comparison, how many children there are on this board. If you consider the overall contribution to the board by some of the older members here, and then compare it to the bullshit comments on dweeb and pirate, I think it's fairly apparant there aren't many on LRO not genuinely interested in helping out, as compared (to the aforementioned sites) some who just like to draw attention to themselves by being complete, and usless assholes.
As far as moderators, or anyone else, for that matter, editing portions of somone's posting, I think that is taking the idea of 'responsibility' a bit too far. If a moderator finds any part of a post out of line, contact the poster through the PM function, suggest they do their own editing, or remove it entirely. "Blacking Out" censorship went out during WW2, by the US and Allied countrys. It seems to be the norm of New York Times, but if someone can't handle the mild mannered form of criticism evidenced on LRO, they have bigger issues. |

Orginally posted by Ragerover: "I like the Camel Trophy replica idea, as much as painting my truck British Army green color, or something camo type." Yeef_ckinghaw Pat! Hank, I for one enjoy your ball busting sense of humour. And finally TerryS, that was the most profound thing that i have read on any board in a long time. cheers. ![]()

There is nothing on the 4 door classic shown above that would be difficult to replicate. The signs can be reproduced by any sign shop. The front bull bar was a standard option on Range Rovers and there are lots about. The snorkel looks like a bit of bent exhaust pipe and the roof rack looks reasonably standard for those commonly available.
The only thing against replicating a Camel car is that most people you meet will not know why your car has been painted such a terrible colour and has Camel stickers all over it. But all this reminds me that I must get around to patching up and respraying the back on my Rangie. Ian |

Should be cool when complete. Don't skimp on the body prep. Especially priming, sealing, sanding. Any flaws lurking in the prime coat will show through in spades.
For the side molding, check this site: http://www.trim-gard.com/product.php3?Type=U they sell to body shops, upholstery shops, detailers/customizer shops. They likely have a molding very similar to the original. Since it's not a 100 point restoration, the original pieces would be a waste.
