I am in the process of installing my RTE body lift on '90 RRC. I am trying to get the steering shaft out for the weld on sleeve. The shaft seems to be completely "bottomed out" in the collar closest to the cab and almost bottomed out in the collar on the u-joint between steer box and cab AND there's not much room for it to move within the collar right at the steer box. It's almost like the shaft is long enough without the lengthening collar. I am wondering if the shaft will get too long when I weld the RTE lengthening collar to the shaft. Has anyone been able to install the 2" body lift without the shaft "lengthener".
Thanks for bearing with me guys. J.B. |

I have a 2 inch body lift with the standard steering shaft. Should not need to extend it for a 2 inch lift, but you do need to make sure they can move on the splines before starting the lift.

I wouldn't weld on the steering shaft anyway- bad idea.
