Default Seats wont work with door closed!! RRC LWB

My 95 classic LWB seats no longer work with the door closed. When I open the door and the cabin light comes on the drivers side seat and side view mirrors start working. they were working fine until they stopped working.
Any insight people?? Help a guy out!! LOLOL!!

I'm gonna take a shot and say it may be a relay BECAUSE the seats are set up to be adjusted with the door open to adjust between the two preset memories settings, so when the door closes, a relay would switch to disable the seats until the vehicle was on or running. But I'm not really sure if there is even a relay for this purpose.

So nothing happens at all, even while running??? I know mine won't work with the door closed and the vehicle is off, but as soon as it's running, or the key is in the on position, everything works.

With as many flukes with the electrical system, I need to ask: Is there any reason why you can't adjust the seat while the door is open and live with the "No Power Seats While Door Closed" dilemma???

whats really lame is the passenger side doesnt work at all.i hear lots of complaining, and when my girl drives im leaning back in the seat to far.

Anyways.....The drivers side seat and side view mirrors work when the drivers side door opens but not until the cabin light comes on as well.
itll probably be easier to take it to some kind of mechanic and let them figure it out.
thanks!!

It's been my experience that unknown electrical problems + mechanic = Large amounts of $$$ leaving your wallet. I would spend a little time investigating it further...I know its frustrating...I'd just hate to see your experience soured even further with a costly mechanics bill and possibly still have a problem.

Default this might help your seating position

check your earth connections, if you spray water over them or when it rains, and the seats function properly, then you could have a grounding (earth) problem.

If the 95 is set up like my 93, do a ecm test. if your drivers control has the green button & the #1 &#2 buttons, make sure nothings in the way of the seats, turn the key to the on position push the green button 5 times then 2-1-1-2. the seats and mirrors should move in all planes of opperation.

I had the exact same problem on my RRC - turned out to be two fuses under the passenger seat. You can access most of the fuses under the seats from the back, but there are a couple that you may have to take all the plastic panels off the seat base to gain access to. Good luck
