Default springs.

i see a few ways to lift this truck, the two easy ways: spring risers, or expansion stilts(the nut and bolt that spreads the coil. ) but i was hoping to replace the springs all together. i am wondering what is neccessary for this process? is it a one man job or do i need some helpers? also has anyone a good recommendation on some stout aftermarket springs? my only real reason is so i can run 235 85 16 because theres this bitchin hot spring up a huge hill and the four wheelers have this mogul feild i can almost make it with my 225 75 16 but am worried about bottoming out and damaging the diff or something... i think a lift and some bigger tires and we'll be watchin sierra sunsets from the most inaccessible hot spring nightly.

2" lift springs... go with rte or ome... look around the different rover forums and you will prolly find some used ones, or post wanted ads... don't do the lift with the items you mentioned... they will pop out or damage something eventually... btw I run 2" ome springs and shocks with 235/85/16 iroks and have no problems, but I have heard that going bigger may cause vibrations and other issues needing a new driveline, longer brakelines, castor corrected swivel balls, radius arms, etc.

after re-reading the post, hockey puck type spacers work fine...I was thinking of the spacers that go between the coils and twist to separate, and lift...

If he thinks we're bad he should try discoweb.org or pirate4x4.com

I wasn't being snobby. It's just a very basic question that would've been answered 10 times over by just searching for "springs".

Funrover did a great writeup (with pictures) as well in the tech section. You wouldn't have even had to search for that...

Search is just a really useful feature. It's the best part about all these forums.
