I, a newbie, am the proud fat-bodied owner of a '90 RRC, who has no amplifier for the stereo, for some lowlife stole it.
I just bought the vehicle, and overall it's not in bad shape with 126K on the dial. 3rd owner, came with decent service records, Although the typical gremlins apply (PS pump leaks, Missing a bumper cap, Sahara Tent Effect for the roof liner, etc.) I figure while I am spending money, on new toys, should I... A. Hunt an original down, which I have had no luck at, and just keep her stock? (Any ideas as to where I may find one would be appreciated.) ...or B. Just say screw it, and dump a bunch of money into a complete system upgrade. Yet if I do this, with the akward angle it has, which CD Player would work best, and not look like utter crap? Ideas. |

Does it have the stock 6 CD changer in the back? If it does, I highly recommend keeping it in the RRC. Seems to work well for me.
As for the amplifier, assuming that you have that huge box in the back passenger side for a woofer, I see no reason why you couldn'y replace it with an after market one. If you don't either the CD changer or the woofer, an after market amp I think would still work, of course, you would have replace and add a new wire and fuse set for the amp.I think this is what you can do. ![]() And BTW Welcome to LRO! ![]()

I'd get something after market as well. I'd replace your speakers too. At least the 4 inches. I did mine and was pleased. I didn't spend a bunch on the speakers got some Pioneers I think. Made a big difference. I plan on upgrading the whole thing when my daughter takes over in a year. But I do want to keep the six disc while it works.
As far as the headliner and the "other stuff" check out my website. I've done most of those projects and wrote about them for you. Click the pic in my signature for the link. Welcome to the Forum. |

That reminds me, I have some "sahara tent" sagging spots in my RRC that need to be dealt with.
