Default Sticking RPM needle

OK - I know it isnt the end of the world, but it just bugs me so I thought I would see if it can be fixed?

Problem: My rev guage needle is "stuck" at about 2,000, I can bang on the plastic facia and it moves down, but gets stuck again...it works fine past that range and indicates correctly (I think).

So the question is - any one else had the same issue and fixed it? HOW?

I want to know if it is possible to fix, or if I need to buy a whole new instrument cluster to fix it...I have had the instrument cluster out before and it is a pain in the arse...still have a nice scar from the plastic surround when the screwdriver slipped.

Cheers all.
