Default STILL... getting to know my RRC.......

Ok, changed my water pump this weekend.... Not too bad of a job. Start to finish, including radiator flush... TWICE. It took me 4hrs. Well while doing this I of course wanted to inlude my heater core with the flush! I put the heat on, and no hot air came out of the middle vents. I then fooled around with the switches, and only got hot air to come out of the footwell, or the defrost mode.... top of dash. Is this normal??? In the winter I want hot air to come out where the A/C comes out. Can do that? Boy this truck is sure different than my Disco was..... But I still love it!!!

lol....rrc have there own personalty!!! i think it took me awhile to get everything down. my dads never worked that great when and before i got my rrc and i had no lights on an the control area. do u have a owners manual? if not i will check tonight because i forgot what order u have to have it. i think on the far left u want it up all the way. and on the rights side u can keep it up or down. i have to look again. it should be the same as the AC. were all 3 controls are in red that is were u have the best defrost. rrc never had the best heat systems and i donot think my heat came out that good from the center. and when it is cold i would always have the defrost on and that heats up the rover good for MN winters -10 or so.

If you look at my heater core replacement project. You'll see the center vents are A/C only. I was surprised by that fact. I thought heat should be routed there but apparently not.

Okay scratch that.
I looked at it again and warm air should come out there. I don't think my site on all this will answer your question. I guess I either never managed it or didn't get my levers in the correct position.

i remember reading (i do not think this is the promblem) that the tubes that go to each vents comes loss and should b duck taped around the connections to get a better flow. i do not think my heat comes out of the center vents, now i keep thinking about this. does any one know if air comes out of the 2 holes below the center back ash tray (on the floor)? they look like air should come out and when i have teh floor air on nothing comes out and the front floor heaters r so small. i get heat out of the floor heaters, more on one side (pass side). i have a 93 so i do not know what years have the tubes in the back.

Heat only comes out the floor or the defrost. AC only from the middle. I think since they use different blowers that is why you can't use the middle for heat. Not sure what comes out from the center console.
