Default Strange noise coming to a stop

After driving for about two hours in the rain I noticed an odd noise when slowing for a red light. It is engine speed related rather than drive train. Sounds like it is coming from directly below the shifter but it is really difficult to tell. I took it back out about an hour later and it did it again. It will not do it consistently. It sounds like a combination of a belt slipping and a bearing going bad. Could it just be weather related or am I looking at something more serious? Transmission has been maintained. It was flushed w/i the last 15k miles and the fluid is at the correct level and very clean. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Bill

Cool

Could be the ABS related? Do you feel a slight vibration under the brake pedal when it takes place? Once in a blue moon, I'll have a weird vibration under the pedal in snow.

Nope, the ABS is not connected pending replacement of an exciter ring. I don't feel it in the pedal or steering wheel. Just an odd noise from somewhere under the truck that relates to the engine speed while coming to a stop.

It seems like the noise is coming from the idler pulley for the a/c. Used a swab with gear oil and a bit of wd40. We will see tomorrow if it takes care of it.
