Default sunroof and headliner issues, 95LWB

couple new problems with my sunroof/headliner:

1 - my sunroof will tilt up and go back down flat, but will only retreat about 1/2" into the roof before stopping... no leaking i can see...any ideas what this might be and how i might get to it to fix it?

2 - i successfully removed the headliner and had it recovered but need to remove the sunroof screen now to be recovered to match....is there a simple way to remove it without dropping the entire roof pan? i just dont think i can manage that project..

any ideas appreciated...thanks so much

I too have the first problem on my Rangie.
So there has got to be a solution...I just haven't found it yet.
I had to drop the entire sun roof out. It's heavy but no big deal really.
Just remember to tighten up ALL the nuts when you put it back in. It's a real pain to go back after you figure out you forgot one and it squeeks when you hit bumps.

I can help answer your questions on Headliner & Sunroof Repair. This is all we do for a living here in Florida. We have 16 years of experience at Landrover of Orlando among other Landrover dealerships

regarding removing the sunroof, has anyone written down the steps? I have the headliner out anyway and reason i need to get suroof out is so i can recover the sliding panel. I need to know what to do besides removing the bolts that hold the suroof assembly to the roof. there are grey and black tubes running from the sunroof motor to the pan - do i disconnect them somehow? or do i disconnect the motor assmebly from its mount and lower it down along with the suroof assembly? or what else? thanks

You do not need to remove the whole Sunroof assemble to get the sunroof sunshade out or to do repairs like replacing a sunroof rail.

Any repairs done to the sunroof on a Rangerover is done from the top unlike a discovery which is done by removing the Headliner Board and whole sunroof assemble.

If you have any question just ask, I will do my best to help any way I can.
