I'd Rather Push a Landrover than Drive a Jeep

And I guess that lift matters to us when we are wheeling down in Moab, which happens to be 4 hours away. We need the lift to help us have enough clearance to get over the five foot ledges that we encounter all too often.

All well and good sevenrover but you didn't even approach the question of the original poster. Go back and read his question and try to answer it. I don't think he was talking about lifting his Rover or rock crawling in Moab.
Oh, and I don't live in Australia, I live in Connecticut, USA. CT is the state's abbreviation. |

Sevenrover, I assume that your comments about lifted vehicles in Oz was directed at me. I have about a 2 inch spring lift, a 2 inch body lift and a 3 inch lift through bigger tyres. Due to stability issues with spring lifts, along with them not allowing larger tyres to be fitted, hassles with drive train angles and castor, springs popping out on compression, we tend to lift the body rather than use springs. The spring lift is more to centre the axle articulation.
Outside the UK, there are probably more landrovers/range rovers in Oz than any other part of the world. We have been pushing them off road in adverse conditions for over 50 years. I would hope that we have learnt something in that time. Ian |

Well, what on earth does it matter what anyone says on here? In the end you are the one spending the money!!!! So why even waste your time continuing this conversation? Oh, and I am only 19 so I definitely don't know it all, but thanks for saying that my writing made me look like I do! Oh, and yes Paul, I wasn't talking to you. I am well aware of the abbreviation of Connecticut.

Oh, and completely honestly, you are the only aussie I have met with a lift on their rover... so i really am impressed. Sorry if I came across as a jerk! I can be the adult in this situation and admit that i am in over my head. sorry again

sevenrover, was not offended. Nearly all the vehicles I go out with have spring and body lifts. Ozies are usually the ones modiftying things first. We are the home of things like OME, ARB, Maxidrive, etc. Within a month or two of a new model being released, eg Disco 2 and Disco 3, we seem to have them running around with lifts on the them and 35 inch simex tyres. But you will not see any landrover based vehicles with more than a 3 inch spring lift, bobbed vehicles, etc. There appears to be different vehicle cultures in different parts of the world.
But as long as people have fun, that is all that counts. Ian |

Thank you for clearing that up Ian, It appears I havent really been hearing the truth as to what is going on down there. And you are definitely the only one besides mike who's opinion I value on this thread. Especially Terry S and Paul Grant. From what I see they need to spend more time wheeling instead of having nothing better to do then argue with a 19 year old on a land rover forum.
