Hi:
I have had great snow and all around results on my disco I with 215/85/16 tires. Slightly taller and much narrower than 31/10.50/15 tires. Narrow is best for snow and not bad for other terrains.

This is about a 5% increase over the stock 235/70/16 tires, which is the maximum I have found on several vehicles to increase tire size for the benefits, but avoid speedometer and gearing issues.

I also reccomend siping which increases traction and tire life.

this is a picture...yeah i was wondering about 2 different sizes considering it is 4WD, im going first thing in the morning to get the other 2...i didnt even think about the gear ratio going down because of larger tires...is it really 3.13 with the larger tires?

ryanc8514,
What is your intention with running two different size tires? As said earlier this is not a good idea and can cause some serious problems.

Yes, it really is 3.13 with larger tires. There are tire calculators on the web - do a search and you can calculate the gearing and especially the effect on RPM's and torque. I would go into now, but I don't have time. Maybe later.
